Language Teachers react to a demonstration of a Suggestopedia class from @SUNTOP5 (https://youtu.be/kNGUGqdwONw). We give our expert opinion on the teaching in this example lesson.
What is the Suggestopedia Teaching Method?
Suggestopedia is a 1970s teaching method that uses suggestion and psycho-physiology to create a relaxed and motivating environment for language learning. The method aims to help learners overcome psychological blocks and tap into their unconscious resources for learning. The teacher uses a variety of techniques, including drama, storytelling, and positive suggestion, to create an atmosphere of positive expectations and to encourage students to believe in their ability to learn the target language.
In the ELT (English Language Teachers): Under The Covers react series, expert teachers break down teaching scenes from movies, TV shows and viral videos of classroom clips – and react to them with a light-hearted spicy commentary on the teaching situations/practices shown within them.
